For cases of tooth loss too severe for a dental bridge, you may need a denture to return your smile to full function, health, and beauty again. We have two different options, full and partial. Which one is right for you? In today’s blog, your Riverside Dental Group team talks about the difference between our full and partial dentures.
Don’t Ignore Your Missing Teeth
When you lose your natural teeth, you need a dental prosthetic. A set of dentures could help return function to your bite, so you can enjoy your favorite meals again. You can also feel more confident in your appearance and enjoy yourself in social situations. Even if years have elapsed since you lost your teeth and now, we can still help you obtain a full smile again! Don’t let your smile erode and your quality of life suffer, talk to our team about possible solutions with a set of full or partial dentures.
Partials
A partial can take on the more complicated cases of tooth loss. If you have multiple gaps spread out across your smile, then you need a prosthetic to address these gaps. The partial contains custom ceramic teeth set in an acrylic base that looks like gum tissue. When the prosthetic is in place, The new teeth fit snugly in these gaps, the prosthetic being held in place with metal clasps that connect to natural teeth. You can smile with confidence again and avoid further complications with your missing teeth.
Complete Dentures
If you are missing most of your teeth or all of them, then we could help with a full set of dentures. These contain a complete row of new and lifelike ceramic teeth set in an acrylic base. Suction or adhesives will keep them in place. Removable prosthetics look natural and tend to last about 5 to 20 years before replacement is needed as the jaw ridge changes shape. However, we could also support them with dental implants, which stimulate jawbone growth to prevent the changes to the jaw ridge, so you can enjoy a prosthetic that can last for decades to come, possibly a lifetime. If you have any questions, contact our team today.
