Cleaning Your Child’s Gums and First Tooth

When your child is still very young, it is important that you provide care to gums and then to that first adorable tooth that arrives. Simply use a clean cloth, get it wet with water, and then gently rub it over your child’s gums to cleanse them. Continue doing this over gums and baby’s first tooth until more teeth come in.

Early Flossing And Brushing Info

Among the dentistry for children questions we receive, we often hear inquiries about brushing teeth. Not sure when to introduce a toothbrush? Here’s what you should know: First, when initial teeth arrive, use a grain-of-rice amount of toothpaste on an age-appropriate brush to cleanse your child’s teeth. Then, at three years of age, it’s time for a pea-size dollop of paste.
