Have you ever wondered what it will take to receive porcelain veneers? If you’re interested in improving the beauty of your smile with a dramatic cosmetic transformation, then it is probably a good idea you begin at the beginning. Once you learn more about the improvements you can expect, such as a white smile, spaces filled between teeth, altered tooth shape, and gently improved misalignment, then you can move onto the process. Fortunately, planning and placement for veneers is quite simple.

A Conversation

We will need to consult with you to begin your process of receiving porcelain veneers. You see, this treatment includes the use of ceramic casings that cover the visible portions of your teeth for a smile transformation. However, we cannot make the choices for the veneer shape, length, width, color, or general appearance without your input. It is important that we begin by having a conversation with you, so we know how to specify the types of changes you want for your new smile.

Preparation

Every now and then, a patient will not require any preparatory work. However, in general, we will need to prep your teeth by smoothing away a minuscule portion of your enamel – your tooth’s outermost layer. This is essential to ensure the veneers fit over your teeth beautifully, so your final smile looks just like you want it. We will then take impressions of your upper and lower teeth. These, in combination with the specific preferences we have discussed, will provide a master ceramist with ample information to create porcelain veneers for the smile you desire.

Placement

After we receive your finished veneers from the ceramicist, we will contact you to schedule your appointment for placement. We will attach the veneers temporarily at first, so we can adjust them as needed. Then, we will bond them to your teeth.
