We will, of course, provide you with information regarding how to care for your full or partial dentures. However, you may at times wonder if you are doing all that you can to ensure your dentures last their longest. The better care you provide, the easier it will be to prevent avoidable repairs or replacements. Consider a few helpful tips from our team, so you can get the most out of your denture wear, while enjoying a complete, gorgeous smile.

Tip #1: Don’t Use Hot Water

Whatever you do – even if you are worried that your full or partial dentures aren’t quite clean enough – do not use hot water on them. Unfortunately, trying to sterilize a denture this way can cause the device to lose its shape. When it becomes malformed, you will notice that it no longer fits correctly. As a result, you will need to replace or repair a denture that may otherwise have remained in good condition.

Tip #2: Try Some Adhesive

Are you struggling with your dentures because they sometimes provide you with the stability you need but sometimes they shift about? If you have had them checked and are sure they fit correctly (stability problems may occur if the device no longer fits), then we suggest you try denture adhesive. This will offer improved daily wear.

Tip #3: Create Resting Spots For Them

Where do you place your full or partial denture when you remove it from your mouth as you’re cleaning your smile and then your devices? How about when you remove your denture throughout the day? Do you place them on a counter or in your pocket? Do yourself a favor and create a designated safe spot in the bathroom, so they do not fall on the floor or into the sink. Consider toting a case with you throughout the day, so they remain out of harm’s way.
