Retainers for Kids
There are two different types of retainers. Some could be removable, meaning the need to be taken out for cleaning and should be soaked too. For kids, we often recommend permanent when possible to limit the chances of the reteeing being lost or worn improperly, which can limit their progress. For young children, these appliances can help guide the growth of their smile to limit the severity of misalignment when they reach the teen years, at which point the correction process can be completed with braces or clear aligners.
Minor Misalignment
For teens and adults with very minor misalignment, they can help correct this and straighten the smile. For example, this could be recommended if you have worn braces and aligners in the years since, factors have caused the teeth to shift slightly and you want to obtain optimal results again.
