woodcrest dental emergencyWe offer emergency dental care for our patients, which can help address issues with injuries and serious discomfort. Whether you have a chipped tooth or even a knocked-out one, we can help! In today’s blog, your Riverside Dental Group team talks about addressing dental emergencies!

Dental Emergencies

What constitutes a dental emergency? When you have damage or pain in your teeth or gums that is serious but not life threatening, then you have a dental emergency. You should call us right away, and if you reach us during our normal business hours, we will try to see you same day for treatment. If we are closed, then please leave a message and a team member will reach out to you soon to discuss possible appointment times.

Examples include a chipped or cracked tooth. Sudden pain in a tooth, or an object caught between teeth or under the gums that floss cannot extract, also needs immediate attention. A dental emergency could include a partially or fully avulsed (knocked out) tooth. When you have issues like these, or if a restoration, prosthetic, or orthodontic is damaged or compromised, then let us know right away! You need emergency dentistry, and we can help.

Exams and Treatment

You can stem any bleeding with gauze or cloth, and take an over-the-counter pain reliever. If a tooth is knocked out, pick it up by the crone only, don’t touch the root, and place it in a glass of milk or salt water.

Our team will take a close look at your smile with digital imaging technology, so we can plan treatment in detail. For a damaged tooth, we could potentially repair it in one visit with dental bonding. If the injury is more severe, we could cap the tooth with a crown. We can restore a knocked-out tooth to its proper place in your smile, and also replace compromised restoration, orthodontics, or prosthetics as needed. We want to restore your smile to its full function, health, and beauty again.

If you have any questions about how we help smiles with dental emergencies, then contact our office today. We are happy to answer your questions and start you on the road to a stunning new smile!
