In a previous blog, we talked about our dental bridges, which can replace a single missing tooth or address a larger gap of up to three teeth in a row. But what if you have lost several teeth and these gaps are spread out across your bite? In a situation like this, your team at Riverside Dental Group could support a set of custom full or partial dentures.
The Need for More Than a Bridge
When do you need more than a simple dental bridge? We could recommend full or partial dentures if you have more severe tooth loss, such as several gaps spread out across your smile, or a situation in which you are missing most or all of your natural teeth. These will all be custom-made based on detailed digital images we take of your bite, ensuring the final results will fit comfortably and provide a balanced bite, so you can feel comfortable and smile with confidence. We also use lifelike and durable materials, so your new teeth look natural and blend with any remaining teeth. You should feel good when you laugh or smile, and we can help even if you have lost several of your teeth!
Partials
A partial can handle complicated cases of tooth loss, situations too severe for a bridge, but not severe enough to require removing the remaining teeth for a full denture. We create a single dental prosthetic that contains multiple missing teeth set in an acrylic base. When attached to your bite, these new teeth will fit all of the gaps at once, and metal clasps will connect to natural teeth to keep the denture in place when worn. The prosthetic is removable and needs to be soaked and cleaned regularly. However, we could also discuss supporting one with dental implants, which means it is fixed in place and lasts far longer.
Full Dentures
If you are missing most or all of your teeth, we can gently remove the last few and then design a complete set of prosthetics. We can offer a removable option, or even support them with dental implants. With options like All-On-Four, we can secure dental implant dentures in only one visit. If you have any questions about how we address missing teeth, then contact our team today to learn more.
