When you have a tooth that needs repair, whether for an injury or a cavity, then we could often help with a restoration. Our team offers full and partial crowns all made from durable and lifelike materials! In today’s blog, the team at Riverside Dental Group talks about repairing teeth with our lifelike dental crowns.
When Teeth Need Restoration
What calls for a custom dental crown? You could benefit from a restoration if you have a tooth that aches due to a cavity or an infection. If you have a tooth cracked, chipped, or worn down by teeth grinding, then we could offer improvements in only one visit. Likewise, if you have concerns with bite balance and chewing function, then we could provide a solution. We could even use them to provide care if you have missing teeth, as one or two could support a dental bridge, and an individual one could restore a dental implant.
Inlays and Onlays
We have both full and partial crowns. With a partial, we address concerns with a tooth too severe for a filling or bonding procedure, but not advanced enough that we need to remove structure to accommodate a complete one. These could include minor injuries or even decay. Our team will numb the tooth being treated and gently remove a small amount of structure to accommodate your new restoration. We then take images of the tooth and use them to design and craft your final restoration. The inlay will fit between the cusps on top of the teeth, while the onlay will fit over them. Made from ceramic, these will be color-matched for a lifelike appearance, and can handle daily bite forces with ease.
Dental Crowns
We could also restore more severe issues with a complete one, a restoration that covers the entire portion of structure above the gum line. Our team will gently remove more structure from the tooth and take images to design and craft them with. When your new restoration is ready, and that includes color-matching it, we will connect it to the tooth with a powerful bonding agent. If you have any questions about how we restore your smile with a custom full or partial option, then contact our team!
